March 20 marked the first day of spring, and I can’t think of a better day to start a marriage- ringing in a season marked by new blooms and fresh beginnings. In front of an intimate group of family and friends, Nick and Paige exchanged vows in the Bryan Courtyard at The Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill, NC. Later that evening, as the new couple celebrated with family and friends, Paige’s sister, Brooke Liebl (whose wedding we filmed just one month before) delivered her toast to the new couple. Part of Brooke’s speech echoes in my head as I write this post: “I think you both struck gold.”
Paige and I have been close friends since high school and have seen each other through fun times (I played Rizzo and she played Sandy in Grease!) as well several relationship ups and downs. So, witnessing Paige marry Nick brought complete joy to my heart! The fact that she fell in love and married someone with a heart as big and as genuine as hers makes me smile. It reminds us that Brooke was right- they really did strike gold! We love you guys and wish you so much joy in your marriage. Thank you for allowing us to capture this day for you (and for including us as your guests- what a rare and fun experience!).
We’ve been lucky enough to film alongside some fabulous photographers, but this wedding marks a first: working with my talented photographer sister, Meredith Perdue. It was a real treat to see how Mere connected with Paige & Nick and shot the events with such grace. Even though she’s still my silly little sis, I definitely look up to her as a mentor in our business and appreciate all of the moments when she answers the phone so I can ask her for advice! Meredith’s photos from Paige and Nick’s wedding are exquisite.
